Bhushan Pradhan Shares First Look Of 'Gondya Ala Re': A Historical Series
Bhushan Pradhan is coming this Independence Day, with a series based on the historical Chaphekar brothers!
Bhushan’s latest post says he is, “turning the pages of history, to a lesser-known chapter of the first youth armed revolution in India” with an upcoming series ‘Gondya Ala Re’.
Directed by Ankur Kakatkar, the poster of the series released by Bhushan looks intriguing. Three masked men, one of which is Bhushan, a pre-independence backdrop and the Chaphekar brother’s cry ‘Gondya Ala Re’ clearly indicates this story is about the thrilling chapter of Chaphekar brothers and assassination of W.C. Rand.
Rand was a British plague commissioner in Pune, under whose leadership the Britishers oppressed the citizens of Chapa, Pune during the plague outbreak in 1897. The Chaphekar brothers assassinated Rand and his accomplice Ayrest. ‘Gondya ala re’ was used as a signal by the brothers Damodar and Balkrishna, to execute the assassination. Hanged till death for this crime, the Chaphekar brothers, sparked a fire in the hearts of Marathi youth to pick up arms and fight the oppression of the British Army.
Bhushan was last seen in ‘Amhi Doghi’ opposite Priya Bapat in 2018. He is known for his hits ‘Coffee Ani Barach Kahi’ and ‘Satrangi Re’. It will be a unique character for Bhushan and this will make it all the more exciting to watch ‘Gondya Ala Re’.
